Textile & Garment Manufacturing
An order isn't a number,
it's a table.
Size-colour breakdowns, the cutting-sewing-quality line, fabric waste calculation and deadline tracking. Saying "three thousand pieces" is easy; knowing how many of each size were cut is what finishes the job.
The breakdown is entered with the order; the cutting plan, fabric requirement and packing list are all derived from this table. Figures are illustrative.
How many pieces are at each stage?
An order is not one pile; some is at cutting, some at sewing, some at pressing. Unless the stages are counted separately, nobody can answer "how much is left" correctly.
Every stage advances by a scan on a handheld. Once the pieces waiting between stages are visible, which line the bottleneck is on stops being a matter of opinion.
Fabric waste is where margin quietly melts.
Marker planning, width and length losses, cutting offcuts. A workshop that doesn't know its waste rate doesn't know its cost either. The calculation below is illustrative and gets rebuilt on your own fabric.
Zero waste isn't possible, but going from 8.9% to 6% is usually a matter of improving the marker plan. Measuring is the precondition for improving — this software does the measuring part.
Where do the defects come from?
Counting defects found at quality control isn't enough; you have to separate which line, which operator and which type of fault. Only then does the repeat get prevented.
Fabric faults cluster in burgundy and in a single batch — that is a conversation with the supplier, not the workshop's fault. Without the distinction, the bill always lands on the workshop.
Hear about the deadline before it arrives.
A delay noticed on delivery day leaves nothing to do about it. The system continuously recalculates an estimated finish date by comparing daily output against the pieces remaining.
Once the risk is visible there are options: add a shift, subcontract, or tell the customer early. All three only work before delivery day.
The rest of the workshop
Markers and cutting plans
A cutting order is generated from the size breakdown, calculating how many plies to lay and how many of each size come out.
Trims and accessories
Buttons, zips, labels and thread are linked to the order. Missing trims show up before production stops.
Subcontractor tracking
Outsourced work is tracked separately, with pieces out and in, waste and subcontract cost all recorded.
Measurement charts
A measurement chart and tolerances are defined per style, and quality control measures against it.
Batch traceability
Fabric batches are traced through to the garment. If a batch has a problem, the affected orders are listed.
Packing lists
Carton contents print with the size-colour breakdown. The customer knows what's inside without opening it.
Questions
We have no handheld terminals — can we still use it?
You can. Stage entries can be made from a tablet or phone by the line supervisor. Handhelds speed things up but aren't required; in small workshops a batch entry at end of day is enough.
Can we track our subcontractors too?
Yes. Pieces going out and coming back, the waste in between and the subcontract fee are all recorded separately. If you want, a subcontractor can be given limited access to just their own work.
Does the software reduce fabric waste?
No. It measures waste and shows where it occurs; reducing it is a matter of marker planning, fabric quality and the cutting room. We claim that what isn't measured can't be improved — and nothing more.
Does it work with our accounting software?
Orders, shipments and stock movements can be exported. Tell us which package you use and we'll say before installation whether it's a direct integration or a file transfer.
Is there support for export documents?
Carton lists and size-colour packing lists are produced. Customs and letter-of-credit paperwork is a separate matter; we have a separate product for export document flow.
How many styles and orders can it handle?
No limit on either, and no per-user fee. Line supervisors, the cutting room and quality control all log in with their own permissions.
Let's run one order
down the line.
How many people in the workshop, how many orders a month, do you subcontract. We'll build a demo on your own styles.
